Abstract

A mechanism adjusts the pressure piston speed, and pressure, to necessary values, when pressure-diecasting, partic. in a cold-chamber machine with the three-phase system. The driving portion comprises a pressure cylinder with piston, preceded by a compression cylinder with multiplicator piston. The latter is of the stepped type, with a piston rod extending into the pressure cylinder. In the first two phases only the pressure piston crown is pressurised, while in the third, the multiplicator piston is also, the latter having a central drilling with non-return valve to which the pressure passages for the first and second phases are connected, and which extends into a piston rod on the side away from the pressure piston. The latter rod is connected to the pressure passages for the first two phases, and the annular central part of the multiplicator piston is pressurised via a separate passage for the third phase. A pressure passage is connected to the compression cylinder and incorporates a controllable valve regulating the pressure. When a set multiplicator pressure is reached, the valve holds the pressure in the passage constant.
