Abstract
A float or the surface of the sea is anchored to a structure on the sea bed. This structure contains a pumping device with a slidable component coupled to the float. The submerged structure may consist of a large surface area blade-like body positioned horizontally on the sea bed. There are pref. several pumping units, these being connected in parallel in an hydraulic circuit. The installation is for extracting sea wave energy. Its construction is easily adapted to suit power requirements, and it is strong enough to withstand heavy seas.
