Abstract

L'invention est relative à un procédé de préparation d'acétone par oxydation catalytique d'aldéhyde isobutyrique. Selon l'invention, on fait passer un mélange gazeux composé de 1 à 8 % en volume d'aldéhyde isobutyrique et d'une quantité au moins stoéchiométrique d'oxygène, ainsi que, le cas échéant, d'un agent de dilution inerte, sur un catalyseur à support en oxyde de zinc qui contient, à côté de l'oxyde de cuivre, de 2,5 à 25 % en poids de graphite, calculé sur le catalyseur terminé et prêt à l'emploi. Le catalyseur utilisé procure une plus grande activité et une meilleure sélectivité.
