Abstract

The elastic suspension for the beam axle of the trailer has the axle stubs (2) secured on flat metal plates (5) bonded to one side of elastomer blocks (11) set in the box section chassis (3). One end of each plate is linked to the chassis by a pivoted arm (7). The plates are guides inside the box sections to provide a stable suspension over a range of speeds and loadings. The other end of each block has a pivot connection (9) between the plates and the box section.
