Abstract

A coupling for a pipe of semi-rigid material consists of a cylindrical metal body (1) with a convergent-divergent bore. A fitting (2) with a bore slightly greater than the outside diameter of the pipe (A) has resilient fingers (22) which are deflected inwards to pass the restriction in the bore and then spring outwards. The tube (A) is then pushed into the bore of the fitting (2) until it passes through the O-ring (3) inside the body (1). Any load tending to withdraw the tube causes the claws (23) of the spring fingers to bite into the tube and hold it in place.
