Abstract
The miniature sensor of the magnetic type with differential transformer is used to detect linear movement or to act as mechanical comparator for measuring thickness. The sensor comprises soft iron cylindrical sleeve with a non-magnetic central part with concentric cylindrical surfaces ensuring centring of rear support. The front end with cylindrical exterior ensures centring to form coaxial assembly. The probe shaft enters the central assembly where it has a magnetic section acting as core to coils and which remains within the coil area when probe point is displaced.
