Abstract

L'invention décrit un procédé et un appareil pour l'isolation en continu d'un tuyau ou d'une conduite à l'aide d'une mousse. Le tuyau se déplace longitudinalement tout en tournant autour de son axe longitudinal. Une station projette un liquide moussable sur la surface du tuyau; on laisse ce liquide lever partiellement avant d'enrouler autour de la mousse une gaine externe protectrice appliquant sur la mousse en train de lever une pression suffisante pour en élever, à la surface externe, de 10 à 25 % la densité finale (par rapport à la densité qui serait obtenue sans confinement). L'invention est notamment applicable à des opérations de préparation en continu de longueurs de tuyau revêtues pouvant notamment servir, ultérieurement, à former des pipe-lines.
