Abstract

Sample containers for medical or biochemical analysis are made from two sheets of a synthetic resin. Receptacles are formed in one of the sheets and tubes in the other for extending the depth of the receptacles. The two sheets are welded together so that the tubes are slightly out of alignment with the tubes; a ball, impregnated with reagents, can thus be trapped between the two. Mfr. entails only simple operations of cutting, forming and welding; as regards the tubes, two successive operations are necessary, i.e. the forming of the closed tube and then cutting the bases from the tubes. The ball is introduced into the receptacle before the two sheets are welded together.
