Abstract
An aq. injectable solution is prepared extemporaneously from a first container having 20-100 pts. wt. of acetylsalicyclic acid (I) and a second container in which are (a) 1000 pts. wt. of water suitable for injection, (b) 105-150 parts of arginine or lysine, and (c) 10-100 parts of glutamic acid and of betaine. Pref. (c) contains about twice as much glutamic acid as betaine. (I) is pref. sterilised by gamma and/or beta radiation of 2.5-4 megarads per unit, and a prepared solution contains 20-100 parts (I), 1000 parts water, 118 parts anhydrous arginine base, 20 parts goutamic acid and 8 parts anhydrous betaine base.
