Abstract

A colour t.v. signal representing a series of frames is read out from te video disc and corresponding pictures are then reproduced on a t.v. receiver whose screen is filmed by a camera. In order to pick up the colour components, a signal representing the same frame is consecutively read out several times from the video disc. The balck-and-wite picture reproduced by the t.v. receiver is filtered out, and colour components are re-recorded on the film. Three black nd white pictures may be displayed consecutively on the t.v. receiver for each frame, the pictures corresponding to the three colour components of the picture. These displays are recorded on the same frame of a colour film through appropriate colour filters.
