Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de lecture de caractères imprimés composés d'une pluralité d'éléments séparés par des espaces d'un premier et d'un second types. Ce dispositif comprend une tête de lecture constituée de trois détecteurs d'éléments dont un premier et un deuxième sont séparés par une distance égale au premier type d'espace, et dont le premier et un troisieme sont séparés par une distance égale au second type d'espace. Le dispositif comprend en outre des moyens d'identification du début et de la fin d'un caractère, et, des deux types d'espaces, respectivement reliés au premier et au troisième détecteurs, et aux trois détecteurs. L'invention s'applique en particulier à la lecture de caractères CMC7 par des détecteurs magnéto-résistants.
