Abstract

The mechanical condition of an electrically conducting material is determined from resistance variations at various locations on the body. This is achieved by measuring potential differences when constant current flows. A constant current flows through conducting material when constant current generator is commanded by an oscillator, controlled sync. circuit. Potential differences are measured by contacts at locations on conductor body. Ameasuring circuit stores values for processing from differential input amplifier connected to the contacts. These results are displayed to indicate mechanical condition of material.
