Abstract

Permanent mould for the prodn. of iron castings consists of a low-alloyed Cu alloy e.g. a CuCr alloy contg. 0.3-1.2 wt.% Cr. The mould has a long life and will produce 6-7 times more iron castings than the conventional type of iron mould. Its life can be further extended by reshaping the contours using a cutter.
