Abstract

The vehicle chassis is partic. for lorries, having a backbone portion running between the steering wheels and the rear suspension brackets. This portion comprises a U-section lengthwise member, reinforced by a flat plate at the top and open at the bottom, and joined to the front part and the suspension brackets by tubular cross-braces. On each side of the member there are fixed to the flanges of the U tubular members extending vertically. To these in turn there are fixed horizontal tubular crossmembers, supporting lateral tubular lengthwise members on each side.
