Abstract

The compsn. comprises two separate solns. (a) contg. 19-25% of an Sn (II) salt, 28-35% chloroacetic acid and the rest water and (b) Javel water at 45-50 degrees french chlorometric units. The compsn. is used to correct reproductions obtained by a heliographic process by applying a thin layer of (a) leaving 10-20 secs. and after eliminating excess soln., applying (b) and then allowing to dry. The process is applied to designs etc. produced from diazo compsns. on supports such as paper, copying material or polyester film. The compsn. overcomes the difficulty that previous compsns. are not always satisfactory e.g. on paper, when neutral diazo emulsions are used rather than diazo cpds. prepd. in acid medium previously used. also only 1 hr. drying is sufficient before redesigning.
