Abstract

A crank lever (26), the crank shaft (28) of which is situated at a distance from that part of a control cam (42) which is innermost in the duct, is connected to the closing flap (14) of a gas duct (2) via an articulation (20, 22). On a pivoting movement of the crank lever (26), a part (44) of the flap (14) slides over the control cam (42). The drive of the flap can take place automatically via the crank shaft (28) from outside the ventilation duct. The device ensures, in particular in laboratories, hospitals and military installations, the hermetic sealing of ventilation ducts as a protection against poisonous gases or contaminated air.
