Abstract

The machine has a frame on which the plastics sheath is unrolled from a freely rotating roller supported from the frame. The sheath is cut and opened along one edge by a cutter (3) in advance of a platform (4) which is hinged to the base. The article is inserted, manually or automatically into the sheath at (G') with the platform raised. The platform is pressed down and cutters (5, 16) sever the sheath. The package is sealed by resistance welding (6, 15, 7) along the open edges.
