Abstract

The heated tongs (1, 2) are for waving the hair in two ways, one parallel to the scalp and one at right angles to it. The tongs have a movable comb (5) incorporated in one arm (2) which moves the middle of a lock of hair to make the parallel wave. The tongs have an internal heating resistor (4) and an electric motor (6) to move the comb by a screw extending from the motor. Alternatively, the comb can be moved by an electromagnet, with a plunger core and a recall spring.
