Abstract

An ignition system for an engine is tested for ignition advance by measurement of angular shift between two periodic pulses. A continuous train of pulses is generated (1) and controlled (2) by a digital signal. This circuit drives divider (31) and counter(41). The divider output is applied to counter (32) followed by decoder (33). The first counter (41) output is decoded (91) to provide unit (23) and ten (22) outputs with fractions of degree on another output (20). Microprocessor controls engine speed simulation by controlling (2) pulse generator. Decoder (91) output is processed for indication using electroluminescent diodes.
