Abstract

L'invention concerne des latex ignifugés et leur procédé de préparation. On mélange deux latex polymérisés séparément de types différents les polymères d'un de ces latex étant obtenus à partir d'un mélange de monomères constitués d'environ 70 à environ 92 % en poids de chlorure de vinylidène et de 8 à 30 % en poids de certains comonomères polaires, en particulier d'acrylates d'alkyle inférieurs, et les polymères du second latex étant obtenus à partir d'un mélange monomère constitué de styrène et de butadiène. L'invention s'applique en particulier à des bases de latex ignifugés présentant un excellent équilibre des propriétés.The invention relates to flame retardant latexes and their preparation process. Two separately polymerized latexes of different types are mixed, the polymers of one of these latexes being obtained from a mixture of monomers consisting of about 70 to about 92% by weight of vinylidene chloride and 8 to 30% by weight of certain polar comonomers, in particular of lower alkyl acrylates, and the polymers of the second latex being obtained from a monomer mixture consisting of styrene and butadiene. The invention applies in particular to flame-retardant latex bases exhibiting an excellent balance of properties.
