Abstract

The closure is fitted to a sterilisable flask used for contg. pharmaceutical prods. It comprises an inner metal cap (1), retaining the rubber sealing plug (11) in the mouth of the flask (10). The central opening in the inner cap is closed by a plastic disc (3) of equivalent external dia. The disc is retained by an outer metal cap (4), this latter having a tear-off opening tab (5). The disc has an annular lip (8) locating in the opening of the inner cap, embedding in the rubber seal to prevent contamination contacting the hypodermic needle.
