Abstract

A light aircraft which is fitted with a piston engine driving a propeller has its range and load increased by the installation of a small jet engine (1) in the fuselage behind the bulkhead (2). Air enters the jet engine through the inlet(7) and the jet is directed towards the aircraft tail through the jet pipe(6). This installation can be built into new aircraft or it can be added to existing piston engined aircraft to increase their performance and also their safety in the event of failure of the piston engine.
