Abstract

The water cooled burner for a furnace, oven, recuperator, dryer etc. has a gas inlet (7) at the lower end and a sideways U shaped manifold with the burner jets (3) at the top. The open side of the manifold is closed by welding it onto a water tube (2). The assembly is mounted horizontally in the furnace. Combustion air is provided from outside the manifold. Edge plates (9, 10) are welded longitudinally along the water tube and the manifold. Each burner forms part of a bank of parallel burners.
