Abstract

Nouveau procédé de fabrication de verre expansé, sous forme de granulés de différents diamètres et à prix de revient très peu élevé. Il est caractérisé par l'éclatement de verre fondu, en présence d'eau pulvérisée, sur des couteaux ou des lames en mouvement, sous forme de gouttes lesquelles sont projetées dans une direction donnée et, grâce à l'eau adsorbée, s'expansent durant leur trajet. L'invention permet d'utiliser des verres récupérables de toutes compositions chimiques, mélangés ou non à des sous-produits industriels comme les laitiers ou les cendres volantes des centrales thermiques.
