Abstract

By means of the apparatus, tubular textile fabric, for example a tube-like open-meshed fabric delivered continuously from a production machine, is gathered for the bundling of portions of predetermined length. The apparatus has one or more gathering frames (14), via which the tubular fabric (15) is drawn by means of a drive device (37) arranged at the entry end of the gathering frame (14). The tubular fabric (15) is compressed on compression projections, and the gathered portion of tubular fabric is severed from the subsequent fabric tube and thereafter bundled, for example by means of a sleeve.
