Abstract

Electrical units are started and stopped by programmed control operated from a single track magnetic tape recording. Such a system is used where recorded commentaries accompany optical slides. A cassette recorder has outlets for microphone and loudspeaker and remote control switch. The power input for the recorder is supplied via circuits which provide power for a given time period set by switching. Programmed control is provided by a circuit which senses low frequencies from the recorder. An optical coupler provides coupling to a transistor to fire a thyristor. This operates bistables to provide timing to control relay in power line to recorder.
