Abstract
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour la préparation d'oxalates. Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir un alcool monohydrique avec un mélange d'oxyde de carbone et d'oxygène en présence d'un mélange catalytique de: a. un sel de l'un des métaux palladium, rhodium, platine, cuivre ou cadmium ou un mélange de tels sels, b. une amine aliphatique, cycloaliphatique, aromatique ou hétérocyclique ou de l'ammoniac, c. un sel oxydant de cuivre 1, de cuivre 2, de fer 2 ou de fer 3 et d. un sel d'ammonium substitué ou un acide avec un ion opposé autre qu'un halogénure. En variante, on peut utiliser un ligand ou un complexe de coordination du sel de métal. Les oxalates obtenus sont utiles comme solvants et comme produits intermédiaires pour la synthèse de colorants et de produits pharmaceutiques.The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of oxalates. This process consists in reacting a monohydric alcohol with a mixture of carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of a catalytic mixture of: a. a salt of one of the metals palladium, rhodium, platinum, copper or cadmium or a mixture of such salts, b. an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic amine or ammonia, c. an oxidizing salt of copper 1, copper 2, iron 2 or iron 3 and d. a substituted ammonium salt or an acid with an opposite ion other than a halide. Alternatively, a ligand or a coordination complex of the metal salt can be used. The oxalates obtained are useful as solvents and as intermediates for the synthesis of dyes and pharmaceuticals.
