Abstract

Appts. for purifying industrial gases, consisting of vertical ducts, through which the gas flows, jets which form a stream of atomised liq. countercurrent to the gas, and a prod. collector, incorporates tubes in the duct. The tubes, through which a fluid can circulate, bring about intimate contact between the atomised liq. and the gas being purified. The appts. may be used as a heat exchanger. Appts. allows the temp. in the system to be regulated by simple and effective means, without making the construction heavy or the appts. fragile. The temp. may play an important part, partic, when the gas to be purified passes beyond its dew-point.
