Abstract

The device for automatically controlling cutting off sections of a specific weight and wall thickness within prescribed tolerances from a cylindrical hollow tube, has a speed measuring unit for the speed of feed of the workpiece. A unit measures the wall thickness of the outer radius of the workpiece, at various points. Automatic, electronic calculators measure the weight at a fixed point of the workpiece passing by it. This weight is a function of the workpiece movement speed, the wall thickness and outer radius of the workpiece i.e. the varying material cross section, the density of the material and the time.
