Abstract

The printing frame (1) has a plate (2) with a central hole (3) which is the same size as the image (4) located on the upper face (5a) of the metal plate (5). The edges of the cut out are chamfered to keep the frame clear of the image. The frame has vertical sides along the sides of the frame to surround the metal type (5). The frame is fitted onto a table (7) and may be bolted to it, with bolts through flanges. The brush (8) sweeps the surface of the frame to wet the surface of the image with ink (9). The excess ink accumulates at the edges of the frame (11). The scraper (10) follows the brush to remove the excess ink.
