Abstract

The grinding machine is for use in sharpening circular saw-blades and co-ordinates incremental rotation of the blade (42) with reciprocal movements of the grinder (8). The machine has individual blade holders which are stationary and grinder holders advanced by a rotating cam (11) acting on a pivoting recoil-sprung mounting plate (4). The incremental rotation of the blade is effected by an indexing finger (43) acting on the teeth, and two separate transmission systems transmit motion from the grinder-motor (6) to the index finger and the motor-mounting. The machine also effects the separate control of the amplitudes of the movements of both the indexing finger and the motor-mounting.
