Abstract

There are two oppositely rotating containers and two interacting grinding discs (4, 8). One disc (4) is fixed against rotation to the lower container (3) whilst the other disc (8) is secure against rotation to the lower part of the upper container (1) by means of a short shaft (11) and a transverse bridge (12). The grinding mechanism thus only extends slightly into the upper container to allow the latter to be open at the top where it can be closed by a removable stopper (2). The shaft pref. has a non-circular cross-section and passes through a suitably designed opening in the associated grinding disc (8).
