Abstract

On applique à la plante un composé 2,6-diméthylphénoxy de formule I ci-après. Le composé a pour effet de contrôler la hauteur de plantes ornementales (chrysanthèmes, hibiscus, poinsettie) et de céréales (blé, orge) pour augmenter leur valeur commerciale, mais aussi d'inhiber la croissance jusqu'à une longueur indésirable de pousses charnues d'arbres fruitiers (par exemple de pommiers, de vigne, de poiriers, d'orangers) ou de gazons, et de contrôler la croissance végétative d'arbres fruitiers et, de la sorte, de fixer convenablement la phase de floraison de ces arbres et leur phase de maturation des fruits.
