Abstract

The contact has a securing element which can be pressed into the chamber wall and provides clamping action, in order to hold the contact in the chamber. The securing element is in the form of a flexible locking strip (5) which assumes in the chamber an angle exceeding 90 deg. to the direction of insertion into the contact chamber (18). The contact is preferably a one-piece sheet metal element. It has a latching part with U-shaped cross section between arms and a terminal part (1). The locking strip is stamped from the socket part of the U and extends between shanks over their lateral edges. The strip free end may be chamfered, and its cross section may be arcuated. The inclination of the strip in relation to the inserting direction is typically 100 deg.
