Abstract

Medical or biological appts. for applying heat to an oven of the skin employs a transmitting aerial consisting of a conductor which may be flexible, which is covered with a thin layer of insulation, and which can be wound into a coil. It operates at a voltage less than 50 volts, and may also use electrodes. The electrodes may be used at the same time as or alternately with the aerial. Frequencies between 1 Hz or 10,000 MHz can be transmitted. Currents used are less than 100 mW per sq. cm. Multiple aerials can be used, and can be used in sequence. Printed circuits can be used for aerials and electrodes. The transmitter can be housed inside a mobile unit.
