Abstract

The fork assembly is susepended from two cross members. The upper cross member has a number of notches on its upper edge to receive pins of sliding bearing. The upper ends of the prongs have grooved blocks which enable them to slide on the bearing. The prongs are secured by specially shaped blocks which engage a recess in the lower edge of the lower cross member. The space between the prongs can be varied by means of the jack. The prongs are then locked by the bolts engaging the notches in the transverse members.
