Abstract

A latex compsn. for prepn. of polychloroprene (neoprene) foams consists of a polycholorprene latex and Al trihydrate there being is not 60 pts. wt. of Al cpd. per 100 pts. wt. polymer. A foam rubber contg. 60-100 pts. Al trihydrate per 100 pts. polymer exhibits low smoke emission and is flame retardant. Such foams are used in seat cushions, esp. of cars and buses. Use of Sb2O3 is avoided.
