Abstract

In the use of the shaped body in a device for introducing gas into a metal melt, the shaped body can be a bubble brick, a bubble ring or a lance head. In the latter case, the lance head (8) is press-fitted on a ceramic tube (6) and bonded to the latter. The ceramic tube (6) is held with positive engagement (5, 7) on a steel tube (1). This use allows a simple shape to be employed and results in a long service life.
