Abstract

A pot of earth in a constant liquid level feeder has a centra hole in its base in which an obturator is received. The obturator has a tapered tube portion (4) in which a wick of asbestos fibres (5) is arranged. The lower ends of the fibres are immersed in the liquid. A plant in the earth is de-potted by insertion of a de-potter having a tubular portion (6) with a closed upper end which receives the lower end of the obturator. The de-potter has a wide base providing a stable support so that the hands are free to remove the plant and earth in which it is planted. Penetration of the de-potter is limited by the ring portion (7).
