Abstract

Appts. for checking 'in vitro' the sensitivity of a microorganism w.r.t. to antibiotics comprises a box with a base compartment to accommodate a plastic tray with a series of test pockets arranged in pairs. Each pair of pockets contains a dried antibiotic at two different concns. Another compartment accommodates a smaller plastic tray with a single pair of test pockets containing another antibiotic at a different concn. in each pocket. The box pref. also provides another compartment which is filled with water to ensure satisfactory hygrometric conditions within the box during the reactions. A transparent cover rests on the walls surrounding the box, these walls being higher than the partitions between the compartments in the box. Very simple to use, visual comparison being made with reference test pockets. No complications with gelose media and no measuring of dias. of reactant areas.
