Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un procédé et un dispositif pour améliorer le rendement d'un moteur à combustion interne. Selon l'invention, pour chaque cylindre et pour chaque cycle de fonctionnement est constituée, notamment aux faibles charges, une réserve d'air comprimé, pendant la phase d'admission, avec l'air d'admission. Un retard à la fermeture de la soupape d'admission 5 permet de comprimer cette réserve d'air, qui est constituée dans la tubulure 4 de raccordement du cylindre au collecteur d'admission associé 3 entre la soupape d'admission et un clapet anti-retour 9. Aux charges élevées une fuite de dérivation 10 sert à annuler l'effet du clapet. Aux faibles charges, la réserve d'air sert à balayer le cylindre associé, et aux charges élevées la fuite de dérivation permet de diminuer les températures en fin de compression. L'invention s'applique notamment à un moteur Diesel suralimenté.
