Abstract

The spring loaded (10) remote-controlled catch (8) holds the door (6) of a tractor cab open. Also a further spring (12, 16) holds the edge (7) of the door firmly against the catch (8). This prevents accidental release of the door, and also reduces wear and tear on the catch. The hooked catch may have a plate with a ramped head (17) and a rectangular notch (15) which engages the edge of the door. The second spring (12, 16) may fit into the notch and may act to push the edge (7) of the door flush onto the retaining edge of the catch. This second spring (12, 16) may also act as a stop which limits the descent of the catch (8) and aligns the ramp (17) with the edge (11) of the door. The catch (8) may pivot about a horizontal axle (9) and may be controlled by a lever-operated cable. The cable may be mounted on the ceiling of the cabin.
