Abstract
The light source (12) which can emit short duration and high frequency light impulses, forms part of a proximity detection system for a missile. This is normally a laser diode and a rapid switching circuit (13). A photo detector with a photo diode (14) receiving light via a filter (15) stops much of the light from the source (12). The sequence is controlled by a timer (16) and gives signals via a gate (18). These signals are fed to a switching circuit (20) on the output (21) of a slit and to a counter (23) joined to a logic amplifier (24) and a diode (25) to a high tension source and resistance (26) and thyristor (27) and a pyrotechnique fuse assembly (28).
