Abstract

L'invention a trait à un procédé et à une installation pour former des trous dans l'écorce terrestre dans des conditions de congélation. Elle a pour objet un procédé de forage de trous dans l'écorce terrestre avec un trépan, en utilisant des liquides de forage froids à appliquer selon un processus de récupération d'énergie. Des trous sont forés dans des formations géologiques comprenant des argiles molles ou plastiques, des schistes tendres (ardoises) ou des roches tendres de ce type, avec un trépan conçu pour des formations rocheuses plus dures, le liquide de forage froid contenant toujours une quantité de frigories suffisante pour congeler au moins une partie de la roche près du trépan. Application notamment aux forages sous-marins.
