Abstract

The side-hung pivoting door prevents children trapping their fingers between the hung edge and the frame. The vertical axis (8) about which the door (1) pivots lies within the outline of its horizontal section (3) and the adjacent vertical edge (14) of the door has a part cylindrical form. The axis of the cylinder coincides with that about which the door pivots. The axis may locate on the median major door plane (9), and the dia. of the cylindrical edge may be equal to or greater than the thickness of the door. The cylindrical edge may be formed wholly or in part by the edge (16) of the door.
