Abstract

Diaminopyridine derivs of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addn. salts are new: (where R is pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino, diethylamino, thiomorpholino or N-methylpiperazino). (I) have hypotensive and antihypertensive activities when given orally or parenterally; and have no toxic side effects. In an example, 2,6-diamino-4-morpholino-pyridine-1-oxide was prepd. from 4-chloro-2,6-bis(ethoxycarbonylamino)pyridine-1-oxide and morpholine.
