Abstract

La présente invention est relative à des compositions cardiotoniques contenant de la gitoxine. Ces compositions pharmaceutiques contiennent comme ingrédient actif soit une solution liquide de gitoxine dans un solvant organique et éventuellement de l'eau, le solvant organique étant choisi de préférence parmi l'éthanol, le diméthylformamide, la diméthy acétamide et la N-2-méthylpyrrolidone, soit une solution de gitoxine dans une saponine choisie de préférence parmi la digitonine, l'aescine, l'aescinate de sodium et des saponines analogues. Les compositions cardiotoniques qui peuvent se présenter sous forme de liquides ou de solides avec des excipients ou véhicules pharmaceutiques classiques révèlent une biodisponibilité remarquable de a gitoxine considérée jusqu'ici comme médiocrement bio-disponible.
