Abstract

The watering device has conical walls (3) which are outwardly turned at the base to form a trough (5). It is supported above ground level by a heavy socketed base (24) which receives a mounting (25). The base of the mounting serves as a seating for a constant water level regulator (27). The regulator is installed at the same level as the trough and is connected by flexible pipes to the water supply and to the trough at (7). The regulator contains a float operated valve (28). The base may be of concrete and is of 10 to 20 Kg weight to avoid upsetting of the device by simultaneous arrival of a number of birds.
