Abstract

The structural building element is made of heat insulating plastics and has a central curved arch (1) with an inner curve (2) approx. semi-circular in form with flanges (4, 7) having upper and lower support surfaces. The latter support a T-shaped lug (6) at either end of the bridging member (1). The height of the central arch above the base flanges is about 0.4 to 0.6 times the breadth of the opening in the element between the lugs. The purpose of the element is esp. for attachment to the underside of concrete floors and improves the heat insulation substantially w.r.t. that of an untreated floor.
