Abstract

The connector system for connecting the rotor windings of a synchronous machine to an exciter simplifies assembly of the machine set on site etc. The connector disposed within the coupling of the machine and exciter shafts, connects a pair of conductor rods (6, 6') of the machine to rods (7, 7') of the exciter. The ends of the machine rods are formed into radially extending plates (8) which make contact with wedges (10, 10'). The wedges are connected to the exciter rods by flexible straps (11, 11') with the wedges pressed into contact with the plates by centrifugal force during operation of the machine set.
